Venas a.s.

VENAS, a.s. (joint stock company) belongs to those production and business companies that operate in Slovakia in the field of agricultural primary and secondary production. The company was set up in May 2001 by the transformation of VENAS, s.r.o. (Ltd.) established in 1994.
The company's activities are gradually widening and besides international business activities it deals with production activity - production of rape oil, rape pressed products; production of burning pellets and production of rational nutrition products. The main tradable agricultural commodities are:

• rape, sunflower, flax, hemp
• energy grass, rape and wheat straw
• used kitchen oils and fats, animal fat

The use of renewable energy sources and the implementation of a new technology on biomass have become our basic goal that brings energy self-sufficiency and independence not only for ourselves, but for our business partners, too. Self-sufficiency stems in ensuring the entire energy consumption (electricity, heat, and water) by our own production that decreases expenses and provides protection from constant increase of prices.
The main production program is pressing of oilseeds, built in 2007 that produces rape oil, rape pressed products and other by-products.

The production (cultivation) activity of the company has widen up in 2008 by the production of burning pellets from wood sawdust, energy crops, straw and other vegetable waste. The new production of rational nutrition products suitable even for celiacs – millet and peeled buckwheat was taken over by our subsidiary company MVR, s.r.o..
The company operates buy-out centres and public warehouses with total capacity of 45 000 tons in villages Streda nad Bodrogom, Cejkov and Somotor. The centres provide services for primary producers - grain cultivators in form of post-harvest adjustment - drying, cleaning and packaging of commodities according to the orders.
Correct and mutually advantageous business relationships with partners, high quality of products and services, business experience and language background create the good name of the company not only in Slovakia, but also in Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria and Germany. VENAS, a.s. is the holder of the certificate on system of quality according to ISO 9001:2000 norm and of the certificate on health safety of foods HACCP.
