Streda nad Bodrogom Pressing Shop
The usage of renewable energy sources is one of the basic issues of the future of EU and the whole world as well. The criteria of EU's economic and dotation policy stem from their usage. Considering this fact, VENAS a.s. in 2007 set into operation a pressing shop for rape oil. It is situated in the village of Streda nad Bordogom in the close neighbourhood of the buyout centre. In the newly-built halls there are five pressing machines installed from Maschinenfabrik Reinartz GmbH and Co. KG of type AP 15/45, with performance 1,65 t oil/hour. Bio-fuel - rape oil (raw unrefined) cold-pressed with DIN 51 605 norma, is more ecological and economically favourable than diesel. As a by-product of the production the pressing shop produces rape pressed products that are suitable for the production of feed mixtures.
Interest on the use of bio-fuel and meeting the set goals for 2007 - 2010 will depend mainly on achieving production on high quality level, legislature, tax preferences and dotation policy of the Slovak Republic.
The green book of the European Committee orders the EU member states the obligation to replace to 2020 min. 20 % of fossil fuels by alternative fuels in transportation, from which 8 % has to be replaced by bio-fuels. In member states of the European Community the issue of using bio-fuel in transportation solved by the Directive of the European Parliament and Council 2003/30/ES dated May 8, 2003 on support of using bio-fuel or other renewable energy sources, environmental protection and support of the agricultural sector.

Streda nad Bodrogom Pelleting Plant
The project of production division of burning pellets is oriented to the area of the former workshop of feed mixtures in the neighbourhood of the Streda nad Bodrogom Buyout Centre. The production of pellets from energy crops was launched in April 2008. The goal of pellet production is the usage of vegetable waste as energy source by method that does not endanger the health of people and environment. The pelleting plant will dispose technologies for the production of agro-pellets, wood pellets and highly energetic pellets. The basic raw material for the production of pellets are sawdust, straw, and other vegetable waste. The pellets are bio-fuel from the point of view of the price stabile, perspective and highly compressed with heating capacity 16 - 18 GJ/t. They are pellets with diameter 8 mm, length 20-30 mm with low demand for warehouse space and enabling automation of burning processes. Annual production plan represents 35 000 tons of burning pellets.
